Newberg MOPS

Welcome to Newberg MOPS!

MOPS is a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers. We believe that incubating hearts and giving just-because-hugs can change the course of history. That’s why MOPS connects moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying alongside one another.

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and by preschoolers we mean kiddos from birth through kindergarten. We know it’s a little confusing so let’s just stick with “MOPS.”

We are moms, and we believe that better moms make a better world.

Meet Your Steering Team - Jean Brunson

Name -  Jean Brunson
Position – Publicity
Kids/Family – I have been married to my husband Jason for five years and we have a four year old daughter, Avonlea.
Where did you grow up - Los Angeles, CA until I was in junior high and then I have lived in the Portland area since then.

What did you do before kids – I taught first grade for five years and then quit to be home with my daughter, but continued to sub for two years after that until I finally decided to just stay home full time with my daughter.

Hobbies – reading, cooking (not baking) and watching live theater

Favorite MOPS memory –
I really don’t have one favorite memory that comes to mind, but I really enjoyed helping out at the Christmas Bazaar last year.  It was awesome to see how many people supported our bake sale.  I also really enjoy chatting with other moms during the meetings without interruptions.

Why did you join steering -
I joined because I really like MOPS and have enjoyed being a part of this group and I really wanted to get more involved and meet other moms outside of my table group.
What are you most looking forward to for this year of MOPS –
I am looking forward to hearing the different speakers and meeting new moms that will be at my table group.
